There is no truer saying than "Prevention is better than Cure." This is particularly accurate in Dentistry today. I therefore place great emphasis on this aspect of my practise to help achieve my stated goal of giving you a DISEASE FREE mouth!

For this reason I have an Oral Hygiene Program as an integral part of my practice. The primary function of this program is to provide for my patients the most up to date and comprehensive preventive treatment.

This treatment will be prescribed by me and provided by my Oral Hygienist and may include:

  1. Taking X-rays
  2. Periodontal Charting's
  3. Scaling, Polishing, and other periodontal procedures
  4. Fluoride Treatments
  5. Fissure Sealants
  6. Oral Hygiene Instruction
  7. Taking Impressions

Patients should all see the oral hygienist regularly. The frequency of visits will depend on the individual and can vary from a visit every month to perhaps only one visit every twelve months or more.

Dentistry today encompasses a large range of treatment modalities. New materials, techniques, and equipment are constantly becoming available and I regularly attend continuing education courses to familiarise myself with these and incorporate them into my practice where desirable.

I no longer use silver/mercury amalgam fillings in my practice. The technological improvements in composite resin filling materials have made them the material of choice in routine dentistry to-day. These tooth coloured filling materials are challenging to use but the results are very rewarding.

I have extensive experience in the following:

  • A special Interest in Cosmetic Dentistry, Implant tooth replacement
  • Crown & Bridge Work
  • Pediatric Dentistry

My Post graduate degrees were in these fields

To achieve and maintain DISEASE FREE status of your mouth you will need to attend my rooms regularly (frequency will vary from person to person). To assist you in this direction we have a recall program and you will, through this program, be reminded of when you are due for your periodic examination/oral hygiene visit.

If at any time you have any questions, problems or queries of any nature whatsoever - please do not hesitate to discuss these with myself or any member of my staff.
